FEARLESS: a good read to help you leave your fears behind.

If you’ve ever felt fearful of not living up to your purpose in life, or become emotionally paralyzed by the great unknown, this is a solid book for you.

Lucado skillful narrates the situations we find ourselves becoming afraid of the future, and of our own past. People are afraid their lives don’t matter; they’re afraid of disappointing God; they’re afraid of an afterlife; and they’re even afraid their faith in God could be a sham. There’s a reason he’s a best-seller; his writing is immensely accessible and like a caring father he listens to you and leads you on a path beyond yourself.

He offers no easy solutions or quick-fixes, but leads us to the fountain of all confidence, God Himself come to us in Christ. We can venture into the great mystery of the future confident God is with us, for in Christ we get to be with Him.

My only qualm is that he tends to deal with the fruit of our fears (anxiety, stress) and not the root of them (pride, greed, envy).
